Continuing the international flavour to the Jalapeno roster, the latest J-Funk signing comes from long time compadres in the funk-breaking field of dreams – All Good Funk Alliance. Fast establishing themselves as the key players in the US scene alongside Fort Knox Five, on this occasion Frank & Rusty are joined by Neighbour and Wax Romeo from Canada’s Homebreakin’ label who collaborate with AGFA on the lead track SBC and provide another solo track on the EP.
The EP has the trademark rolling basslines and crisp funk breaks that typify All Good Funk Alliance’s records but tracks like “Get the Pieces” add jazz doublebass in the mix to provide a widescreen picture of what these boys can offer. Neighbour introduces crisp electro basslines to his end of the productions to induce a head nodding, body popping fervour. Tight.
All Good Funk Alliance are the minds behind the successful Funk Weapons and Super Hi-Fi labels They featured prominently on the last Jalapeno Funk album under their B-Team guise as well as with their AGFA remix of IKON.
