Jalapeno Sound System

2008 is the year that Jalapeno Records goes from backroom burners to festival slaying frontrunners. The label has slowly been building a fan base for its left of centre funk, sixties lounge grooves, breakbeat bombs and harmonious house all mixed up in the live DJ sets of its artists under the Jalapeno Sound System banner. This collection gives you a taste of the eclectic vibe on offer.

Dance music in general has been going through a period of rejuvenation, nobody wanting to listen to a night of the same music, all the successful DJ’s coming through taking chances and mixing up everything on offer.

This has given Jalapeno the chance to flourish. From the old school cut up breaks of Skeewiff (including an exclusive vocal from Young MC) to the future soul of Henrik Schwarz and Kraak & Smaak there is serious quality in the Jalapeno catalogue. This album includes Let’s Have Scratch for Breakfast and Bump Bump by Skeewiff and Ya Lookin Tight by retro funkster Soopasoul.
