Except of course it’s not the end, it’s just the beginning and that sentence just gives you an idea of the kind of year Dutchmen Oscar De Jong , Mark Kneppers and Wim Plug had in store for them in 07.

2006 was the year K&S made the jump from being a cool retro-funk act pumping out some essential vinyl releases to a world beating live act with one of the funkiest debut albums in recent history. In between releasing their own records and touring the US, UK, their home country of Holland and everywhere in-between they also found time to do some serious re-rubs of friends, acquaintances and the odd superstars work.

In 07 having already played the Good Vibrations tour in Australia, they had a short US tour to support the release of Kraak & Smaak – The Remix Sessions – a collection of their remixes. “It seems like quite a breakthough moment for us” says Mark Kneppers from the band. “At the time we didn’t realise how much we were working, but all of a sudden we’ve got enough material for a double album of our remixes with amazing artists we have remixed like Richard Dorfmeister, Jamiroquai, Mark Rae, Max Sedgley and Fort Knox Five on there.
