Tricolour is the debut release from producers IKON on the eclectically minded Jalapeno Records.
This offering from the label that bought you Skeewiff is a departure from the pulsating dancefloor smashers that are more synonymous with the label.
The title track, Tricolour, is quite definitely an extravaganza of mood and retrospective with a twist of the contemporary. Martini’s, Margot Lead-Better and big brown leather sofas spring to mind, so to does the theme from Tales Of The Unexpected. A quite beautiful ensemble with moody guitars and sultry bass tones. This is a dead cert’ to drop with a Campari & Soda in one hand and the love of a good women (or man) on the other.
On the flip the flava steps up a notch with the mesmeric vocal of Sol de Martinez on Thinking Of You. The Latin feel she brings to the track is so distinctive and enhanced further still with the help a Brazilian 3 piece backing band. The summery mood of the Balearics has been perfectly brought to this 7".
